Interview with Fanny Morel

Nachrichten

Communications Director at Oh My Cream, wellness guide creator and mother to Andrea, Fanny Morel brings together a passion for self-care, a love for vintage design and a thoughtful approach to family life.

In this conversation, she reflects on embracing motherhood, finding balance and learning to let go, while discovering a new rhythm between professional ambition and family life.
For Fanny, a home is a space that evolves with the people who inhabit it, making room for new routines, meaningful objects and shared moments. With Andrea’s arrival, Nobodinoz pieces naturally find their place in this personal universe, combining functionality, timeless design and a playful spirit.
We’ve talked about motherhood, wellness, vintage treasures and the little everyday rituals that make a house feel like home.

You have a multifaceted career as a communications director and wellness guide creator. How do you navigate this dynamic balance between embracing your professional ambition and stepping into motherhood?

I’ve always been very passionate about my work, and I love having several projects happening at the same time. Becoming a mother hasn’t changed that ambition, but it has definitely changed my relationship with time and priorities. I’m learning that balance doesn’t necessarily mean giving equal space to everything every day. Sometimes work takes the lead, sometimes family does, and I’m trying to be comfortable with that. Motherhood has also made me want to be even more intentional about the projects I choose and the energy I give them.

You’ve mentioned on social media that pregnancy has taught you patience and the importance of letting go and being kinder to yourself. How are you embracing this beautiful lesson as you prepare for your little boy’s arrival?

Pregnancy was probably one of the biggest lessons in letting go I’ve ever experienced. I’m naturally someone who likes to anticipate, organise and control things, and suddenly I had to accept that my body, and my baby, had their own rhythm. Now that Andrea is here, I realise that this lesson was actually the perfect preparation for motherhood. I’m trying to listen more, trust my instincts, accept that not everything needs to be perfect and be a little gentler with myself.

As the Communications Director at Oh My Cream, you are a true advocate for clean beauty and self-care. How has this holistic philosophy influenced the way you took care of yourself during pregnancy?

Working at Oh My Cream has definitely shaped my vision of beauty over the years. I see beauty and wellness as deeply connected: sleep, movement, nutrition, stress, skincare… everything works together. During pregnancy, I became even more attentive to what my body needed rather than following a strict routine. Prenatal yoga, Pilates, lymphatic drainage, massages, gentle skincare and simply slowing down became part of my self-care. It was less about doing more and much more about feeling good and staying connected to my body.

How would you describe your personal taste when it comes to interior design, and what elements do you consider essential to make a space feel like "you"?

Our home is really a reflection of both Gianni and me. We share a love for design and have built our interior together over time, each bringing our own taste, furniture and objects, and the stories that come with them. Somehow, all these different influences now coexist and feel very much like us. We love mixing Art Deco with Space Age influences and Italian design from the 1970s, especially lighting. We also have a real passion for vintage furniture, particularly pieces by Michel Ducaroy, and for beautiful objects found at flea markets or collected over the years, because they bring soul and a sense of history to a space. Textiles are also essential for us: rugs, curtains and fabrics are how we bring warmth, texture and colour into the apartment.

Preparing those first spaces for a baby is all about mixing comfort with beauty. How are Nobodinoz pieces helping you blend functionality with your aesthetic to create the perfect welcoming nest?

The Nobodinoz evolving baby bed is really the centrepiece of Andrea’s room. I love the idea that it can grow and evolve with him while being a beautiful piece of furniture in its own right. We paired it with smaller Nobodinoz pieces that make the room feel even warmer and more playful, like a checked fabric basket and a sleeping bag. I really like that the brand’s universe feels designed for children without compromising on aesthetics, everything is practical, but also beautiful enough to naturally become part of our home.

When your little boy grows up and looks back on his earliest days in your Parisian apartment, what is the core feeling, atmosphere or memory you hope he immediately associates with his childhood home?

Warmth, above everything. I hope he remembers our home as a very happy, comforting place, full of love, people coming in and out, long lunches, music, laughter and little everyday rituals. I don’t necessarily want him to remember a perfectly decorated home; I want him to remember how he felt in it. Safe, surrounded and free to be himself.

Through your wellness guides, you visit incredible hotels and spas. When you need to disconnect and unwind after a busy week, what is your absolute favourite space in your own home?

Definitely my bedroom. It faces the courtyard, so it’s probably the quietest room in our apartment and really feels like a little cocoon. For me, there’s nothing better than a very comfortable bed, a fluffy duvet and that feeling and smell of freshly washed sheets. In the evening, it’s also where I love to do my LED mask session on clean, bare skin, then get into bed with a herbal tea and watch a series or read a book. It’s a very simple ritual, but probably my favourite way to unwind.

What are your absolute favourite spots in Paris right now for a slow, inspiring weekend stroll as you embrace this new chapter?

I absolutely love my neighbourhood, the 9th arrondissement, and now I get to rediscover it through a new lens, walking around with Andrea in his stroller. My ideal weekend stroll is really a succession of little rituals: picking up a Franco-Japanese pastry at Rayonnance on rue de Maubeuge, buying vegetables and pantry staples sourced from small producers at Berrie on rue des Martyrs, and browsing Chœur Cœur on rue de Navarin, a lovely children’s bookshop and music school. I’ll stop for a feel-good latte at 48 Collagen Café on rue La Fayette, and if it’s lunchtime, sit down at Yori on rue de Maubeuge, my favourite Franco-Korean neighbourhood spot. I love that everything is within walking distance, it makes the 9th feel like a little village.
