Interview with Amalie Reedtz-Thott
Raised between an organic farm in the countryside and the creative rhythm of Copenhagen, @amaliert has built a family home where both worlds beautifully meet: calm and grounded, deeply connected to nature’s rhythm, yet full of life, culture and inspiration.
In this conversation, she opens the doors to her sun-drenched Copenhagen sanctuary, where conscious choices, natural materials and soft colors create a nurturing atmosphere for her daughters, Bobbie and Georgie. As she says, “Creating a home takes conscious choices and effort,” and for Amalie, every object should bring harmony, warmth and meaning into everyday family life.
Nobodinoz pieces have naturally become part of this world. Her first piece for the girls’ room was a Nobodinoz tipi, still loved today, a symbol of imagination, play and childhood memories. Drawn to the natural materials, beautiful textures and pops of color, Amalie finds in Nobodinoz that perfect balance between pieces that feel playful for children and aesthetically beautiful within the home.
From slow mornings in pajamas to open-ended play, gardening, reading and cooking together, Amalie reminds us that the most precious family rituals are often the simplest ones. “Those quiet, unhurried moments are when I feel we reconnect the most.”
A tender conversation about motherhood, softness, intentional living and the beauty of creating a home that grows with the rhythm of family life.

You grew up between an organic farm and the city. How does this unique blend influence your lifestyle and your home today?
Yes I grew up between two very different worlds, an organic farm in the countryside surrounded by animals and city life in Copenhagen. I think both live deeply within me today. The farm gave me a connection to nature, rhythm, simplicity, and slowness, while the city gave me creativity, culture, and inspiration. Our home today is really a blend of the two, calm and grounded, yet deeply connected to nature’s rhythm and full of life.
Becoming a mother at 25 was a turning point for you. What is the most beautiful lesson your daughters, Bobbie and Georgie, teach you daily?
Becoming a young mother felt extremely natural to me. I was still growing up while becoming a mother, still learning and finding myself along the way. The most beautiful lesson is how deeply children mirror us. They continuously invite me to grow alongside them with more softness, presence, and self-awareness.
You describe your sun-drenched Copenhagen home as a sanctuary. How do you balance a curated aesthetic with the lively reality of two kids?
Creating a home takes conscious choices and effort. It’s very important to me to only surround our family with things we truly enjoy and connect with. I’m mindful about the toys, materials, and colors we bring into our home, everything should add to a calm and nurturing atmosphere rather than disturb it. I also believe it helps when everything has its place, making it easier to tidy and create a sense of harmony, even with two children.

When it comes to the girls' spaces, how do Nobodinoz pieces fit into your home to keep things both beautiful and playful?
My very first by to my girls room was a Nobodinoz teepee. We still love it. I’m drawn to the natural materials, beautiful textures, and the pop of colors. [Nobodinoz’s] pieces feel playful and imaginative for children, while still being aesthetically beautiful within the home. The girls’ rooms are very connected to the rest of our space and Nobodinoz fits perfectly into that atmosphere of warmth and creativity.
What does a perfect, slow weekend morning look like in your family nest?
We stay in our pajamas for as long as possible. Slow mornings and slow days are crucial for our whole family. We always try to keep at least one day every weekend completely open, with no plans at all, just endless open-ended play, gardening, reading, cooking, and being together. Those quiet, unhurried moments are when I feel we reconnect the most.
You shifted from a fast-paced nursing career to naturopathy after experiencing burnout. How did that necessary pause reshape your approach to wellness?
Burnout completely reshaped the way I look at wellness. Before, I was still very aware of my body and its signals, but when the pace is high and the expectations
are even higher, it becomes difficult to find balance, at least for me. Today, wellness is much more about alignment rather than constantly performing or achieving.

Between studying, working, and motherhood, what is your absolute non negotiable daily self-care ritual?
My daily non-negotiables are meditation, dry brushing my body, and my morning tea, preferably sitting in a beam of sunlight. Those small rituals help me feel grounded and connected before the day begins.
When you step out of your sanctuary, what are your top favorite family hotspots in Copenhagen right now?
We love spending time outdoors as a family. Some of our favorite spots are Hart for slow mornings by the water, long walks and biking around the city, and Botanical Garden where the girls can explore freely. Copenhagen feels very special with children because nature and city life blend together so effortlessly.
