I’m Kayla, a visual creative and freelance artist with a deep love for objects with character. I share interiors that balance bold color, playful form, and a sense of nostalgia; a space where past and present meet.
How would you define your personal decorating style?
Playful modernism. It’s graphic, warm, and sculptural, somewhere between mid-century retro and contemporary cool, always with a personal twist.
What attracts you most when you choose a piece of furniture or a decorative object?
I'm drawn to design that conveys joy and intention. I love that my work is constantly changing, while remaining focused on the beauty of decorative objects and furniture.
What are your sources of inspiration in terms of home decor?
Vintage furniture design, 60s / 70s interiors, and a lot of wandering through old books and secondhand shops.

Is your home your creative refuge? What elements make it so?
Definitely. It’s where I experiment most; layering shapes, textures, and objects that energize me. I think cozy lighting, a great lamp, and good music playing make all the difference.
What is your favorite corner of your home, the one you most enjoyed decorating, and why?
The area around our arc lamp and turntable. It’s where so many things I love come together: color, form, sound, and light. It sets the tone for our whole space.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start defining their own interior decorating style?
Start by noticing what you’re drawn to over and over. In magazines, vintage stores, even textures. Build from there, piece by piece. Let it be playful.
What do you like most about wooden mirror of the collection Studio Heju x Nobodinoz ? Where would you place it in your home?
I love how sculptural yet soft it feels, organic but graphic. It would be perfect layered into a gallery wall or placed near a lamp to catch and reflect color.
What does the word "home" mean to you? Is it a place, a concept, a feeling?
