Interview with Carola Etxart and Andrei Warren
The creative couple, @carolaetxartpanno, designer and creative director, and @andreiwarren, visual artist, director and founder of @misatostudio, open the doors of their home to us in this edition of Nobodinoz Talks. The couple are parents of Neo, a curious 2-year-old boy. Full of style, they share their interior secrets: living with what really means something to them.
Tell us a little about yourself.
Our daily life as a family isn’t much different from that of any other urban family with a child. We wake up by opening the windows and saying good morning to the sky, the neighbors, the birds, and Barcelona—Neo loves it. We never skip breakfast, and then comes the obstacle course of getting Neo dressed, combed, and teeth brushed... It’s an exercise in patience, but we usually end up laughing a lot. After that, he happily goes to daycare until 5 PM, and in those eight hours, we try to get all our work done so we can fully enjoy our time with him afterward.
How do you balance your professional life with your family routine? How do you make time to spend quality time with them?
Balancing quality parenting with work is incredibly difficult because, honestly, the system doesn’t make it easy. But despite that, we feel privileged—Neo has four grandparents who help a lot, and we both have flexible schedules.
What is your daily family life like?
What we enjoy most with Neo is watching how mischievous and funny he’s becoming while still being sweet and affectionate. It amazes us how quickly he’s growing. His favorite thing in the world, though, is playing with his electric train, which Santa brought him, and having us read The Three Little Pigs to him every night. I have to keep reinventing the story so I don’t get bored telling it over and over!

How would you describe your taste in interior design?
When it comes to interior design, we’re pretty eclectic. We are very different in every way, including our tastes, but paradoxically, we always find common ground, and the mix of our ideas works well for us. We both agree that we can’t live with useless clutter—we get rid of anything that doesn’t serve a purpose without hesitation. And we would never have Buddhas or dreamcatchers in our home.
Beyond that, mid-century furniture, Nordic style, bold lines, and even kitsch touches are all welcome as long as they work in the space. Right now, we live in a rather small apartment, so we can’t fully unleash all the creative ideas we’d like. But since Neo was born, we’ve been clear about wanting more space, a big garden or terrace, and being closer to nature. We’re actively looking for a new place, and we’re almost there! The thought of it excites us—we love a good renovation and a move like no one else. Of course, even though we’ll be letting go of almost everything, the first thing we’ll bring to our new home will be Neo’s Nobodinoz bed.
How would you describe your family adventure?
If we had to describe our family adventure in one word, it would be: A DREAM. We never imagined we’d understand each other so well while taking on something as important as raising and educating a little human. We make a great team, and that makes any problem not only seem solvable but feel like a challenge we’ll tackle together.
Describe your three favourite places in Barcelona to visit with your child. For example: a place to eat, a place to play and a place to enjoy the culture.
Our favorite places in Barcelona to go with Neo are the beach (but only when it’s not summer), strolling through Ciutadella Park, watching the ducks in the lake, and even visiting the zoo. We love riding the train at Parc de l’Oreneta or the carousel at Turó Park. But now is when we’ll really start enjoying outings and traveling with him—until now, he was too little to fully take it in, but from now on, we can plan real adventures. He loves anything new, and watching him experience life with such joy is the best thing in the world.
